Meet our founder Suzanne

With over 30 years of experience in end-of-life care and a heart full of compassion, Suzanne embodies the values of her organisation.

Her passion for helping communities to reclaim their role in supporting those around them who are approaching end of life or coping with grief are the foundations of her work, using her experience of community development as a model of practice.

Her belief that people should be active participants in planning their end of life, and that families should be prepared for the processes that accompany the death of a loved one, drives her passion to break the societal taboo of not talking about death and dying.

Suzanne is passionate about addressing the barriers that marginalised communities currently face in accessing good end of life care and bereavement support.  She thrives on collaborative working and is always seeking opportunities to work with other organisations to address these issues from a community level.

  • To help communities and their assets take back responsibility for  supporting those around them who are approaching end of life, living with frailty, who are caregivers, or coping with loss.

  • To reduce public reliance upon statutory and professional services for help and support that can be provided by the community.

  • To improve public awareness about the systems and processes that support those who are dying or coping with grief.

  • To allay anxieties that the public have about the process of dying.

  • To dispel the myths that society has about death and dying.

  • To develop public confidence in knowing where to access help and support.

  • To encourage people to be active participants in their own end of life planning.
